Yep, fine for calls and phone book, although I've not got the text messages working.

tut tut man.

You can only read your messages.

When you get a text on your phone, the little 'envelope' symbol pops up on the i-drive status window.

Then under phone/messages you can read the text message. You can't send though.

Same as when you get a BMW assist nav address message or a google sent nav link.

Getting the Desire is a revalation compared to my old Nokia N97!

I've got a cool little holder too which is goes straight into the cig socket - so charges and holds in one.

That's all I was assuming you could do!! Still a neat feature as for some unknown reason the OH often texts me even though she knows I'm driving. I never read the messages until I get home as I assume she would have called if it were something important...then immediately cop a bollocking for not [insert mundane task here].

What holder is this exactly? and where did you get it? Sounds ideal.. I could be interested in something similar. A photo would be cool too if you wouldn't mind.

Its basically this..

http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4.../Product.html#

Mine has a nokia charger plug only though, but I got an adapter with my N97 which changes it to Micro USB, and that works with the Desire.

This new one on Play.com seems to have plenty of adapters, but it's not clear from the description if there is a micro SD one. I'm sure you could buy one separately though.

I'll try and sort out a pic of the desire in the holder later

EDIT: Over priced, but confirms it works with the desire

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/universal...gle%2Bproducts

EDIT 2: This one could work, and it's cheaper + won't require an adapter

Current Sony Ericsson W905 works and previous SE Kxxx model phones.

I abandoned Nokia 5 years ago or so, when they stopped making decent handsets...

Cheers for that, certainly an option.. What's with the two pen holder type clips on the side of the mount? Can they be removed? Are they intended for a stylus of some sort?

Thanks,

Daz.

Good question, not sure what they are for. They can't be removed although you could probably snap them off quite easily!

Do you have done something special because I have buy the HTC Desire yesterday, I have made the pairing with my BMW Serie 318d Touring (2010) : phone OK but the transfer of my contacts seems to not work.

In fact, I see the message saying the transfer is in progress but after 35 minutes ... nothing.

When I have done the pairing, my HTC has ask me if I granted the access to my contacts for the BMW and I have accepted.

My contacts in my HTC are "Google" contacts.

Could it be the problem?

Thank you for your answer,
Olivier

Mine are Google contacts too. I have noticed though that not all my contacts appear on the Drive. As yet I've not worked out why.
