1st wash and dry--question on the dry part????
I picked up my 335 this past week and decided that because it was pretty nice out today (65 and sunny) that i'd wash my car. In looking through all the threads and posts of car washing I went and bought some MF towels... a bunch of small ones and one big waffle weave. I don't know if I'm being anal, but after I dried with the waffle weave I pulled into the garage with flourescent lights and upon very close inspection, there were streaks everywhere as if the mf towel did not do it's job. I know I bought good quality towels, so i'm wondering what else it could be. I'm thinking that this was caused because of the low(er) temperature, the water was not evaporated fast enough not to leave water marks????? Any ideas... I do not have any pic's, as there is no way they would have come out with all the detail...

positive that the water temp has little to do with streak marks. Just a wash and dry will give you those streak. You have to talk to shim ot picus on what to use to hide those streak. You only see with the light so i would not worry too much.

Odds are your dealer applied a glaze or wax and you're seeing streaking from it. It's similar to when you wax windows and then run the wipers; you get streaking as the wipers run over the windows. A good way to get rid of the streaking = get some distilled water in a spray bottle, lightly mist a panel then buff it off with a soft mf very lightly. No more streaks.

I tend to use a quick detailer after washing and drying (or a spray wax is even better, like Aquawax or Mothers FX) if I am not going to wax the car. That usually takes care of any streaks or water spots and only takes about 5-10 minutes.
