Anyone know which ships set sail for Port Hueneme around 5/10?
My car arrived at the departure port (presumably Bremerhaven) on 5/6 and the status changed to 195 ("your vehicle is in transit...) on 5/11, so I'm guessing my car shipped out around 5/10. Anyone know which ship may have shipped out for Port Hueneme around that time? Anyone else on the West Coast waiting for car that shipped out to Port Hueneme at the same time?

I ordered a car that was not spoken for because it was already on a ship and optioned exactly as I wanted, so we claimed it to be diverted to my dealership in socal...I was told as recently as yesterday that it is hitting Port Hueneme on May 26th (ETA). Anyone on this boat? name?

Has the ETA been more or less pushed forward or back to a later date for those of you who have been tracking Triton Leader? Any estimates on how quickly they can process these cars? I'm assuming that all of our cars have priority one classification since they are "sold" cars?? Mine only has to travel 2 hours south from the port to my dealership so it should even get there the same day they load it maybe....? |

My experience has been the ETA date for the ships is pretty accurate. Might go one day either way. The P1 cars get processed first at the VPC in Oxnard. This usually takes a day or two then onto the truck. If you are two hours from the VPC, your car could very easily get to the dealer in one day.

"Patience is a virtue." I waited a little over 2 ½ months for delivery of my first special-order BMW…
(Moonroof delete in case you were wondering.)

There is something wrong with that. If it has been there that long I would start to think it got smashed during transit or something and they are doing body work at the VPC? If I were you I would demand some answers.

Interesting, someone posted this at other forum and looks like Triton Leader is about 2 days earlier(docking tomorrow):
http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/ edit: my bad 5/25 is docking in San Diego, the original ETA for Port Hueneme still stands for 5/27. Good thing I am not working for traffic control of airplane Last edited by HPIA4v2; 05-25-2010 at 09:34 AM.. |

If y'all can tear yourselves away from your new cars after they come in, it would be great if you could let me know how long it took you to get your cars from the port and into your grubby hands.
I'm a week behind (Maersk Wind due in Port Hueneme on June 2 or 3), so I wonder if it's realistic to hope to pick it up at the dealer the following weekend (June 5/6). |

I read on another bimmerphile's documented trip to the BMW VDC at Oxnard with photos and whatnot and he learned there that P1 (Priority 1/already sold) cars could be processed and ready to ship in 1-2 days. From there, it's just a matter of how far the covered trailer truck has to go and how many stops until then. They probably have a good number of trucks taking all the cars on the trailer to one dealership only, however, maybe for P1 cars they have them loaded up on one trailer that can leave asap...and then that one would have to make different stops to drop off individual cars at different dealers? This is what my mind does when it's impatient....try to rationalize and predict things it should not waste time with.

I heard from last experience with my 535i(for folks further North), cars get on the train to holding area in Tacoma WA before get trucked to dealer. Hope they'll use enclosed truck since I don't want "freeway-measel" from small rocks |

Guys, if I were you, I wouldn't count on getting your cars any time soon after the ship hits the port. In case you haven't heard, there is a problem with the power seat modules and they are installing them at the VPC's. There is currently a huge nationwide backlog and cars have been sitting at the ports for weeks. My car has been at the VPC in Baltimore since 5/8, for instance. I'm just letting you know this so that you don't get your hopes up too high that you will have your car soon. You may be one of the lucky ones who isn't affected by this issue, but I think there is a better chance that you will be.

Thanks for the info. I'll check with my CA soon to see if he can tell whether my car is affected or not. Keep us posted on your car -- sorry it's taking so long.

I just received a call from my CA stating that my car was finally released to the carrier yesterday, so it should be here in the next couple of days!
