e92 parts fitted at non BMW garages

Hi all,

Hopefully i'll find a e92 335d soon. I will always get it serviced at BMW whilst its worth anything.

However i have a very good relationship with the service dep. and mechanics at a local toyota garage as my mrs does the accounts there. No labour etc and parts at, almost cost.

I haven't asked them yet as i don't have the car but would BMW sell them all the usual parts like brakes discs / pads / springs / bushes etc? And would getting them fitted there affect the value of the car in any way... i wouldn't of thought so as its not servicing?

Resetting the service indicators can be done without any special equipment - only if the pad wear sensors have worn through does it need to be reset with Autologic or similar but the Toyota dealer will have that.

i don't see this as a problem.. if i was buying a car i am only interested in if it has been serviced, and a good number of people are like that too..

never understood why a dealer service commands a higher resale price, there is no sense to it..
