You will be surprised what dedicated snows can do for you. I spent an entire winter in a ski resort in NW tip of NJ, and forget about getting stuck, the car did not slip very much either. It was almost an equal for my RAV4 except when snow depth was too much and RAV4 was only way to go. BTW I have the entire set of wheel/tire combo for sale soon. The wheels are same exact size as my front sports package wheels, but I used same size all round, no staggered set up. Blizzark extreme winter performance. You can buy new, but buying used cheap maybe much better, you not going to summer drive on those since its such a waste.

In braking (which is arguably the most important snow traction factor in avoiding an accident), yes, absolutely without question.

For standard cornering with little or very light acceleration the RWD with snows would still trump the AWD car with all seasons in the vast majority of cases.

Straight line acceleration and gentle corners with harder acceleration : the AWD car with good full tread all season tires would likely have the advantage.

I second this.

I have an e92 335i that i ran Bridgestone Blizzak WS-60s on this winter in a 235/40/18 size.

I also will be converting to a winter Jetta as I do not want to run the 335 in the winter for longevity reasons. Looks like I have a set of winters for sale too if you are interested.

I live in Malden and had no issues during this past winter even on unplowed back roads.

You'll be very happy that you didn't opt for the X-Drive when summer rolls around as well...

Blizzaks FTW! I have used my tires for 3 seasons now and they work awesome! Especially here in Calgary where we get blasted with snow.

Gary I bought my Blizzarks from you guys. Awesome in the snow. Actually I didn't even notice I had no AWD on the car. Anyway, I want to get snows for my stock 2007 335i sports package wheels and seems you guys dont have them in that size?

None at this time (we are entering our Summer season), but we should have options closer to winter. I would suggest checking back early fall, normally September would be a good time.
