HELP!! Buying 2010 328i sedan - finance or balloon/select payment??
I live in Miami, FL and I've been quoted $31,500 for a 2010 328i sedan, silver, with the basic value package, with moonroof, black leather interior, cd/ipod, etc. I'm not sure if this is a good deal. Bluebook/edmunds say invoice is around 31,500. I am concerned about high payments and the dealership gave me two financing options: (2.9% $454.79/60months, $10,000 down) and then a bmw select option (2.9% $271.00/60 months with a leftover $11,840 final payment). Is this balloon deal a bad idea? I really dont want high payments for NOW, I'm just graduating law school and looking for a job. Thankfully dad <3 is coming through to help for a little while. Is the left over balloon of $11,840 unrealistic as a residual? Might it be in my best interest to check out the 2009/2010(if any) loaner vehicles instead? PLEASE HELP the deal if until the end of the week!! Any advise would be GREAT!!

What is the MSRP of the car? Is it Steptronic Automatic? Not very well acquainted with financing but make sure the $3500 incentive that BMWFS is offering is there in the deal. Where are you getting it finainced from? |

Well, first off, if you plug your numbers in, $31,500, 10k down, 2.9% for 60 months, you get a payment of $385, granted thats without tax so definitely look for a better deal, leasing that car would get you the lowest payments without a balloon, but then you won't own the car.

MSRP on the car is $37,000, the invoice price is $34,000. The price I would get it at is $32,500 (I was wrong before). Yes, its an automatic vehicle. I'm looking to get the car from Braman. There is no longer any $3500 incentive, in fact there is no incentive that they have discussed. I'm also concerned about the run flats. I think I should get the insurance and not take the chance. The 60 month/$270 per month payment doesn't seem too bad to me, I would probably trade it in after the 5 years and never have to loook at the balloon. To lease the dealers want at least $7000 so I started to think about buying since it would cost only a little more and I would gain equity and possibly have some money left over at the trade. Any thoughts?

Got extended into May. BMWFS added another $1000 to move 2010 cars. Now if anyone can confirm that this is also true on Financing (which I think is), your dealer needs to make things clear to you. MSRP:$37000 Invoice: $34000 Maco: $380 (double check). Incentive: 3500 Dealer Profit : Should not pay more than $500 on a 2010. Final Price : Invoice + Maco + Dealer Profit - Incentive 34000+380+500-3500 = $31380 (Compare to $32500 you are being charged) Make sure the vehicle has about no more than 10-20 miles on it. Get the price right first, think about RFTs and payment later. JMO Good luck! ![]() PS: A piece of advice from someone nearly in your position, but this forum taught me a lot, don't rush into the deal. Last edited by bavarianboar; 05-18-2010 at 10:58 PM.. |

Thanks for your help! Unfortunately I am unable to find anything on the web suggesting a $2500 incentive on lease and finance in April that got extended into May. I also cant find anything that shows thatBMWFS added another $1000 to move the 2010 cars. I'll keep hunting.
