First Ipad In Bmw!!!!!!
Ok, so i am done with my ipad install! it turned out great and the functionality is incredible! so much better than anything else I could have done sub 1k! The mount is very sturdy and the audio goes through the 30pin cable into the aux and is charged via a belkin micro usb! I am in love with the ipad!
Here is the dash with the ipad removed. A side view. Here's the back of the piece that holds the ipad. And the front. Mounted with the RAM arm. Ipad mounted up. Ipod feature. Surfing the Web via 3G. View from outside the car. |

The cup holder is fully functional!
And it actually takes away zero leg room from the passenger and the ipad can be swiveled to just about any angle for either the driver or passenger. If you loosen the RAM arm, the whole assembly can be positioned where ever and then tightened again. The passenger will and already does love it! It is perfect for the passenger to watch a movie. And the sound is incredible! there is no better surround sound in existence! It provides an excellent Music interface, as well as Movies for passenger, Internet access for passenger, GPS, Google maps, Weather, Pandora Radio, Books for passenger> It is like the ultimate passenger luxury! and The ultimate in car audio interface COMBINED!!! |

really? I think its fairly aesthetically pleasing. Its unobtrusive, removes easily....
I don't know... to each his own i guess.... And its not 100% for aesthetics. It's about functionality.... If you have a better idea to make make is more attractive I'd love to hear it! |

No, your idea is the best ever. Drilling a hole in my dash is not an option for me.
-surround sound? ear phones >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>check -intergrated car audio? most new cars have an aux jack >>>>>check -manipulate itunes? use an ipod >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>check -does it charge? thats easy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>check -navi mapping? now youre just highlighting ipad features. Hey you like cool new gadgets thats great. But its basically for your gf to check her tweets and facebook. Now you hate me for life. Quote:

and I actually didn't drill any holes into the dash. I drilled one into the cup holder which is 30 dollars and one into the cup holder trim which is 9 dollars. I also bought extra oem parts so it is 100% reversible. as far as your responses, i suppose ear buds are surround sound? lol but not up to par with an upgraded car audio system. (or stock) AS far as integration, I meant more along the lines of hidden cables and such but yes you are right, most cars have aux. which i actually utilize. Itunes? I used an ipod before just fine but trust me there's nothing like navigating through it on a 9 in. screen..... in the car! lol Charging: easy? yes but not when its included in a hidden cable that carries both audio and power. but still easy yes. And finally, yes it is an ipad feature however, it is also a very useful utility. And arent all these things simply ipad features? thats sorta the point... lol No hard fealings though.... P.S. It is a fantastic way to shut up your girlfriend.... namely through FB and Twitter! just as you said! |

Im thinking if I did this is SoCal I would get pulled over, its just too inviting for a cop not to give me a ticket for mounting a computer to my car..
