Just picked up an 07 335d coupe.... and not blown away!!!

Hey all

Just joined up and first post.

I picked up a new 07 335d coupe 2 weeks ago, fully loaded with all the toys you could want. I have only done 400 miles

I have already lost two wheels to cracked alloys and one tyre. Putting that aside, the performance and handling does not seem that great, well nothing special... do you think there could be a problem with the car, or am I just hoping for too much from a D.

I have had a 320d in the past, and that was felt quick ishh.

Any ideas?

Both perfomance and handling should be excellent on your model.

Err, I have a mapped 320d and its considerably faster than a 2.0 TT FSi. So your 335d should piss ALL over it. In every dept.

This sounds suspect. Especially if you thought your 320 was quick as you now have over a 100bhp more! My 330 is rapid, so yours should be flying.

I wonder if there is an issue with your traction control? Mine was holding the car back a lot before I got it fixed....

We only have 335d e90 /w auto. Allthough I drive all kind of MINIs and BMWs quite frequet, the 335d blows me away EVERY time. If you have the same engine I know, you are either 400+HP spoiled or something is wrong. Limp?

Your 335d has double the torque of the TT, so in real world driving should feel very powerful albeit with a short rev band, I'd imagine it will feel much heavier and softer though.

A 335d in M-Sport should be the Dogs B's

The power should pin you back in your seat, and it should handle brilliantly.

I'd be taking it into a dealership....

You're not doing it right!

My 335d (standard spec no remap etc) blows me away everytime I drive it. Something sounds wrong or you've been spoiled by something in the past (not the TT).

Does it pull hard when you put your foot down? The handling should be spot on too. What exactly are you experiencing? Lack of feedback, poor acceleration etc?

dont worry i am not biggin up the TT, it was the best company car i could get at the time. All my other cars have been company cars, so nothing great. Maybe a little to much forza on the xbox

Acceleration is very slow to get going, but once it is there it does move. Handling wise i feel very removed from the car, not sure if that makes sense, but i dont feel part of it

I reckon you should find a straight dry road, press dtc (be careful) and see if the grunt is there. If it is, then you know that the problem is related to the traction control etc.
