Is a 2006 325i with 56,000 miles still worth buying?

I need a new car for the start of college next year and I'm thinking of a 2006 BMW 325i with 56,000 miles for $18,000. I will probably only drive 5,000 miles a year max since school is only 4 miles away but I hate taking the bus. So should I still go for it? And would it still be safe to do a transmission fluid flush on it when I buy it? Thanks!

BMW's don't exactly explode after 50k miles.
Because the mileage is higher, expect to pay for maintenance and service, which will cost more than your typical Japanese counterparts. With that said, if you have the means to afford the maintenance, go for it. If not, $18,000 can get you a new reliable Japanese car. That's all you need especially since you're just starting college. |
