M3 Sold - New Car Ordered
Morning all,
I've sold the M3 and ordered a new 335i MSport Touring. Spec is as follows, and I can't wait Manual Space Grey Red Brown Dakota Leather Individual Piano Black trim Media Pack Pro Visibility Pack Individual Audio System DAB Digital Radio USB Audio Interface Windscreen with Grey Shadeband Exterior Mirrors Folding Auto Dimming Extended Storage Seat Heating Front Sliding Armrest 12v Power Sockets Folding Headrests Sun Protection Glass Model Designation Deletion Towbar Fully Electric 5 Year Service Pack I got what I think is an excellent deal, circa 14% discount so am chuffed to bits. I just have to wait until late July/early August for delivery (Individual trim delays the order apparently). I have a couple of questions re mods. Do you declare internal mods to your insurance company - I am considering the performance gear knob and handbrake grip. What about the performance kidney grills, worth declaring? Anyone know how I change my user name?? Thanks all, Ian |

...but I do LOVE the 335i too i think you might have to get a mod to change your username (but not sure!)

congrats dude, amazing spec! the red/piano black interior is going to look great!
i think different insurance companies handle mods differently. i know this is crazy but admiral want to know what options you have in the car above the standard spec!!! |

Thanks Gents, I'll leave the username alone and will check with my insurance company!
Can't wait to see the interior in the flesh, dealer reckons it will be stunning! |

No comfort access? My first touring didn't have it and I made sure to spec it in my current one. Its so much easier esp for putting anything into the boot.

I don't think changing your username will affect your insurance, but best to check just to be on the safe side.

Couldn't really justify £520 for it, not had a problem with previous tourings without it, so didn't bother this time....

Contgrats Ian - very similar spec to mine. Space grey with red brown leather is lovely.
Although it will never be an M3, it is still quite a motor and more rounded imo. There is a lot of modding potential if that is your thing. Either way - good choice! |

Good stuff - another manual too!!
Almost same as mine, bar the colour! (Ti Silver). Best Q car on the road IMO, and Red/brown is a grower despite being a bit 'terracotta' at first, especially in sunlight! Re grills etc, IMO if they are small 'manufacturers accessories' no need to mention. You wouldn't mention floor mats or a roof rack would you? Wheels and spoilers (like yahoo) maybe, but not grills. On the gear stick, do yo mean just the 'knob & gaiter' or the short-shift kit with knob/gaiter? Last edited by doughboy; 05-28-2010 at 06:48 AM.. |

Wow great spec, the waiting begins!
Did you have lumber support on the M3, as its an option on the 335, and for me it is a must. Good to see you have no badge on the back, looks so much classier with out it. And do you have an iphone, as you'll want the bluetooth audi option, so Im told!

Slightly off topic, are similar discounts available on an M3?

Sh*t forgot about the Lumbar Support........due'ly added to the spec - thanks Oli.
Re mods, checked with the insurance company and they don't care about mods like gear knobs or grilles just anything that makes the car more nickable! Re the M3, I was asking about a new one before settling on the 335i and I did manage to get a 10% discount, so it's achievable, but not generally from a new factory order. So far as I understand, getting hold of the cars for UK allocation is proving difficult for a lot of dealers. BMW have cut the UK allocation by nearly 20%, preferring to push more cars out China way, due to the euro exchange rate etc. |

Coast 2 Coast are doing close to 10% on a 335i Coupe. Use that to haggle with the dealer - it's getting close to end of quarter two so some dealers may not have met their targets.....

There was a 335d Tourer on the system with expected delv date of June which is now out to Sept Yes discounts seem to be getting less, the dealers had £750 to put into the e92's dont know if they still have that prob how coast2coast is looking like 10% 8%+£750. |
