Advice regarding maintenance plan or extended warranty

I'm coming up on the 4 year mark and really love the 335i. I have almost 50K on the car and am planning to keep it for another 2-3 years. I've never purchased an extended warranty or a maintenance plan on my previous cars and am wondering what most people think of these things. I will change my own oil, filters, etc. once the "free" maintenance ends but worry about expensive repairs like turbos breaking down, etc.. If you advise a maintenance plan and/or extended warranty, do you generally go outside of the dealership for this? Thank in advance for any advice...

I have that Care plan. It is outside the dealer, is much cheaper, and there is only a $100 deductible for repairs.

Thanks for the info, including the last link to the extended warranty thread- a very interesting read. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. A big part of me says not to do it, because extended warranties would not exist unless BMW makes money on them (on average). I've had pretty good luck with my car so far, and the biggest concern (the HPFP) is covered for 100K (or is it 120K?) miles anyway. So I might just take my chances, change my own oil, air filters, etc. and find myself a good BMW mechanic outside of the dealership. Anyone know of a good shop in the Boston area? I currently go to BMW Norwood- their service has been quite good, but I'm not sure I want to continue to use the dealer once the maintenance plan ends. Too expensive....
