Securing Floor Mats
Hi folks,
How do people secure their floor mats? My driver mat moves constantly with two results, one dangerous. 1. It looks ugly with the edges begining to turn in. 2. It moved so much yesterday that it actually rose above and caught on my clutch pedal. All other mats stay in place but obviously there is a lot more movement going on in the drivers side. Any tips?

Seems I have the velcro part missing from the floor. There are just two plastic pins which I will assume should be holding the velcro patches.

Are yours OE BMW mats?
The velcro patches are about 3 inches diameter with a plastic screw moulded on the back of them - you 'screw' them into the carpet by hand. It sounds like your 'patches' have snapped off leaving the screw thread in the carpet! The other 3 mats just have little grippy circles on the back to keep a less firm grip on the carpet. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...38&hg=51&fg=95 Shows the mats with the screw in parts shown as item A, but not separately listed - the dealers might be able to get them for you though.. |

Must be little blanking pins I see under the mat. No velcro patches or screws were supplied. I've to drop by stealer anytime and they will sort it. Thanks to all who helped. Much better than google.

Just a thought - take a look under the mat, can you see the exposed velcro pads on the underside of the mat near the seat end of the mat?
Maybe the 'missing' floor-mounted attachment discs have broken of the plastic screws and are now stuck on the underside of you mat? |

Get some carpet tape for a quid and use that. Job done.

Might just do that once I've got the proper fixings.
Belts and Braces style. The mat catching on the clutch pedal could have been a disaster.
