Reprogram for AT in 328i?
Has anyone had success getting their dealer to reprogram their 328i with an AT based on complaints of slow shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear? I've searched the forums and came up with one update from 2007 that seems intended to fix this, and I also read it mentioned in Bimmer mag this last month. Just wanted to see if I had a shot in hell of getting it applied to my 2007. I can deal with the AT across the rest of the range, but that 2nd (might be 1st too) to 3rd shift is far too slow and makes accelerating at low speeds difficult. I don;t want to always jump to >50% throttle at a stoplight.

I have a 2010 528xi for a loaner and the throttle response is mint. The car only had 68 miles on it when I got it. It's got the same engine but the throttle response is right where it should be. Hopefully this will take care of it.

Mine was reprogrammed and it is much better. The gear changes are faster and smoother now. Tell them that the transmission is jerky and they will do it if it is under warranty.
