i recently bought rims. which is 19x8.5 et35 and 19x9.5 et35. quiestions is i was planning on going with 255 35 19 for the rears, would it have a little stretch or will it have a good look. or is it better to go with 265's? i need to order tires tomorrow and i need help. and one more thing... will the stock tpms be compatible to the new rims and tires? i dont wanna buy 4 more. thanks

Unless you like stretch, you better go for 265/30/19. Didn't you mean to write 30 series tyre?
Don't know about TMPS. BMWs in my country aren't fitted with direct TPMS like yours. |

stock TPMS are fined to use, as for tire size, the common size is a 265/30/19 in the rear on a 9.5" wide rim.
you can also run a 245/35/19 in the rear. or a 255/30/19 or a 235/35/19 if you want to stretch it a little. |

While I don't know if it's "too thick" it's definately on the thick side. I'm running 245/35 in the rear which is has a rolling diameter ~1" larger than 265/30 if memory serves. I highly doubt you could run 255/35. Check out the tire size calculator on 1001 Tires' website.

The standard rear tyre size 255/30/19.
265/30/19 is 3mm larger radius than standard. (1% larger) 255/35/19 is 13mm larger radius than standard. (4% larger) It has some effect on speedo error and gearing. I don't know about fitment issues. Anyway if your car is 2009 or later E90 LCI sedan you should know there so much rear fender clearance on these late model sedans. 265/30/19 will normally fit unless you choose an unusually wide fitting brand of tire. |
