I was told not to paint the trim and vinyl it instead because the paint chips and looks gross after a while.

I would go with vinyl just for the fact that it's super cheap and fairly easy to do it yourself, how much is the guy asking for the powder coating?

Ended up getting the pieces with removable rubber (the large curved piece and the medium straight piece) powder coated. Came out very nice and clean, however the shop I got them @ ended up BENDING one of the small straight pieces. Fixable, but slightly irritated.
I'm going to go ahead and have my body shop paint the rest of the remaining not powder-coated pieces (the 2 straight ones that sits straight on the doors & the 2 two smallest straight ones) to match the powder coated ones. Apparently the largest curved pieces are the ones they have trouble with chipping when they put it back on the car. So hopefully this alternative will come out good. Total price: $80 for the powder coat, Probably $100 for the painted pieces. Pics soon |
