I get those when at WOT over 6000rpm with procede tune. When I run stock, nothing. I still have not been able to find the cause.

4,000 miles ago. I used the OE plugs. That's the only thing I have ruled out because it did it even when they were brand new.

New plugs. 3weeks old BMW maintenance new coil. I bought 2 extras just in case new injector. BMW replaced under warranty 10months ago new engine block. 10months ago. Due to damaged caused by subframe recall. So can't be carbon buildup, plug related, coil related, injector related. What's left... |

I got new plugs at 42,000 and now I have 44,000 on the clock. I get a new fuel pump Monday so I will be able to rule that out by about Tuesday the 15Th. I drove it all day today with no issue of course when I have my lap top ready to go it mysteriously disappears. Last night it would do it 100% of the time over 6000rpm at WOT. I also remembered I was under a 1/4 tank last night and filled up this morning and it was fine.

I do agree with you in part. In case with the OP, it's time but much too often we hear the plugs and coils are bad ... Bla bla. While I understand that driving habits, fuel octane, outside temps, climates all play factors on the wear and tear, come on now, how crappy are these cars to fail all these components????or are there other factors, or is it plain and simple tune related.

I can run my car in valet mode and no misfires. My case is different from you though. Plugs usually run $7 - $9 a plug depending where you get them from. I noticed better idling and fuel consumption in my case when I replaced my first set. Up here in Canada, we get raped on plug costs. $24 a plug!!!

Gas gauge usually between 3/4 and 1/2. My hpfp was replaced 2years ago. When BMW replaced my engine, they tested fuel pressure and it passed their tests. #6 injector failed and was replaced. I take my car in fully modded so the dealer can properly diagnose issues. I've taken my car in so many times, my car is a permanent fixture at the dealership! Usually they find no issues, hence why I think 'other' factors are causing them!
