AMS exhaust installed

I have finally put on my AMS exhaust. I have to say it sounds perfect and there is no noticeable drone in the cabin. Quiet enough to be inconspicuous down low, but at WOT it sounds great. I was on the fence about this and the bmw pe and considering i was gearing more towards performance, this was a no brainer. I will try to take video with my ar catless dps when i get a chance.

Thanks again eric and ams.

Please do as i am interested in purchasing this exhaust myself. Are your AR dps in already or have you yet to install them?

Also curious if you're auto or manual regarding the lack of drone.

In my opinion the AMS exhaust rocks!! I love mine, and I have catless dps. Almost no drone, but once you hit the gas if fukkin screams!! I shoot out flames during the shifts too.
No vids yet. Only a crappy iphone vid with the flames.

Where were you guys when I had mine up for sale a month or so ago? I bought it, had it installed and thought it sounded like ****! Sold it to Persian 54, he stole it from me too....

Anyway, waiting for my AE HFC exhaust now. AMS is loud (compared it with an HKS, Remus, and, AA, all of us thought it was louder than all three of them for sure). Drone? You got it, from 17K to 25K rpm pretty badly. Upwards of 25K I liked it. I could tell a power difference after the JB3 adapted to it. Never dynoed it, wouldn't waste the money.

Also, it requires you to do some cutting for installation and use clamps - not a direct bolt on. I'm not sure why they didn't take the time and energy to make it a bolt on.

Sorry to sound like a hater - just wish I had done better research and not taken a vendors advice - would have saved a lot of money

No cutting or modifications neccessary, did you have a competent shop install it? There is minimal noise in the cabin and what you notice between 2-2200 is hardly anything at all in my experience. Try a K20 with a 3inch catless setup and borla xr1 race mufflers on a motor that spins to 9 grand and ill show you drone.

Everyone has a different tolerance so i guess you chose what works for you.

Are you sure you got an *authentic* AMS exhaust? Ive never heard of reps for AMS products, but maybe. The AMS is completely bolt on. Plain and simple.... Please post pics up of what you're talking about, cause its extremely strange!

Euroautospot.com in San Diego installed it. Check out there site, Shane was a lead tech for SD bmw for 20 years and has done vehicles for SEMA. If your local than you would know about him for sure.

Wish I had pic's, anyway, not trying to rain on everyone's parade. I hope you guys enjoy the exhaust, just thought I would post my experience.

As far as not a direct bolt - the instruction manual itself says that some cutting is required. I bought the one from **********s.com too as far as authenticity. They were with AFE at bimmerfest this year.
