I know why we get the "airbag" malfuction error.
Today was my 4th time heading to my german dealer to get this error fixed. I caused it this time when I took out my seats to clean.
There is a yellow connector under each seat and according to the tech who worked on my car, the same connector is used in the X3 and in the E46 series. My tech (without knowing that I pulled me seat) told me that I had 2 errors, the seat sensor and the belt force limiter. He told me that there is no way that these 2 items could of failed together so that is why he looked at the connector. He told me that he cleaned the connector and then all was good. The same errors happened in the E46 series and in the X3. Something is wrong with that connector. I wont do it because I am still under warrenty but if someone is out of warrent, could you try this: Get some type of connector from here:http://order.waytekwire.com/scategor...%20Connectors/ Solder that shit in place of the old connector then unplug your seat and see if the error comes up. I am 90% sure that this will work. Someone try this and then report back to this thread! |
