Question about 335i exhaust operation
This morning I noticed when I started cold engine of my car, the exhaust on the left hand side worked while on the right hand side was COMPLETELY turned off. When the automatic choke cut-off, the left hand exhaust started working. Is this normal operation or something weird is going on? Car runs and works perfectly....any ideas?

Something to do with there is a valve flap that blocks the one exhaust until the pressure in the second exhaust get high enough to open it such as under more throttle. It helps with reducing noise volume at idle and low throttle. The part I don't really understand is there is also a vacuum tube involved too somehow. Maybe someone who understands it better can explain it. |
