14 passes | 1/8 mile strip | timeslips | E92 | 6mt | exhaust | dropin | pbx
Hey guys. Since there is a lack of timeslips for the N52's, I decided to do some justice by making 14 passes at the local 1/8th mile drag strip. This was my first time ever racing at the drag strip and the 1st stick car in my life.
The conditions were aweful. Temp during my best runs was 93 deg with ~80% humidity. I spun the tires more than bogging them down. Ideal launch was at about 2500 rpms or so. Tire pressure in the rear was at ~38 psi on my 19" DWS conti's. My first run I got a 60 ft of 2.3s and 9.86@72.79. I was shocked at how decent the launch was. I bogged down a bit so I made some corrections. My best 60 ft of the day was at run 4 of 2.13s. Overall my best ET and trap occured on the 5th run with a 60 ft of 2.16s, 1/8 @ 9.55s @73.69. I ran the first 5 runs head to head within a 1/2 hour period. I skipped the burnout box. Since the runs were sequencial I think they were at the ideal temp by the 5th run. All runs except for 1 was done on map3. Towards the end I went head to head against my buddies E92 m3 DCT with full ASR headers and back exhaust. I lost my 1st run by .05s to him due to him severely butchering his launch. All runs after that were worse as expected. He consistently trapped 12 mph higher than me. Runs 6-14 are meaningless because they were average runs and the wait time induced some fatigue. Time slips for runs 1-5 will be posted shortly.

The DW's ar ethe all seasons and the DWS's are the summer tires. They are pretty good. I lost steering feel like in the reviews. The wet grip is better than the oem RE050's RFT's.

My bad, I flipped the naming convention around. DW = summer (I have these) and DWS = all seasons (not sure how they perform)

Sorry, I really wish there is a closer 1/4 track. The nearest 1/4 miles track from here is ~2 hrs away. The 1/8th strip is 25 minutes from here.

It is not feasible IMO. It might be doable with deleted cats, exhaust, intake, 3 stage IM, and Gintani tune.

0-60ft yes, but haven't really heard of tracks being able to track 0-60mph times. FYI, I weighed my car after my runs with me in it and it was right at 3387 lbs. I am going to see if I can get the weight down to ~3250 and some headers down the line.

wow thats light..i think mine should be a little heavier since its auto. Do you know what the difference might be in weight between auto and manual? and I just thought that they could measure 0-60mph but Ive never been to a track so idk.

Not exactly sure on the weight differences between auto and 6mt. I was just under 1/4 tank full during weigh in. My buddies modded E92 M3 with a full interior weighed in at 3749lbs w/ DCT and 1/2 tank full.

here's my todays pass, I installed dynolitius on iphone it seems to be much precise than gtac. I think I could do much better, temperatures are like 96 degrees and I let go of gas pedal last 0.5seconda because of speed bump ahead

60 ft of 2.16s, 1/8 @ 9.55s @73.69 is a great time...I raced a e90 328i man in my 2010 tundra and I beat him by half a car length. I consistently hit 9.230 at 74mph or 14.30 @ 98mph in the 1/4. Nice driving, You have inspired me to take my 328i w/ pbx to the track this Thursday. Your times would have kept up w/ my buddies 350z HR and 09 wrx
![]() you're buddies e92 m3 dct was only trapping 85mph?? That is a true testament to the crappy track cond.

14.19 is pretty wack though (no offense, it's just the nature of using that type of measuring device). There is no way that time is correct. though the mph looks to be about right for a 328i. If I had to guess, I'd say a more realistic ET would be mid-high 14s.
just for reference, when my old honda was running 14.0-14.1, it was trapping at 100-101 mph. |
