Exhaust similar to G35?
I totalled a G35 at the beginning of this year (congrats, I know) and upgraded to an '07 335i. The 335 is superior in every single way, of course... only there's one thing lacking that I really liked about the G. It's exhaust tone sounded perfect to me. Ok, maybe could have been a little louder, but nonetheless.
Can anybody recommend an exhaust with a similar sound? I've checked out the exhaust sound clips/videos, but recordings never really do any of them justice. ...and for your viewing pleasure, a totalled out '05 G35.

+1 I had an 04 G35 coupe, the sound was intoxicating. It's the same sound as the older 350Z and FX series, but they all share the VQ35 motor, so that's expected.

I admit they do have a sick, intoxicating tone. Honestly i doubt you'll get that tone with a n54, since theyre completely different engines. Although maybe with the perfect muffler it maybe achievable.....

Please, no... the Nissan VQ sounds like a cross between a kazoo and moaning cattle. That's one note that doesn't belong (and thankfully can't be replicated) from an inline-six.
Congrats on the upgrade, good to see the Nismo-gizmo put to pasture. |

go with the vanguard exhaust or the hks exhaust. both are great build and affordable.

This is my opinion only, that you have to credit N54 to its own. N54 is a F/I straight 6 and if anything, it can probably be modified to sound more like the RB26 (Nissan Skyline GT-R R34) engines than a VQ. If you listen closely, you can hear the same RB26 tone (very hard to hear but can be) from our engines, specially down low in the RPM range.
