Not as far as I know unless it comes with pro nav or bluetooth package, but I know it def. comes with the snap in cradle for the iPhone.

Do i need it? What does it actually do? Is it for ipods etc. as I know i can store music on the hard drive of the nav.

If I were you I'd order it. 6FL I think it's called - it's a USB in the arm rest.

It allows you to fully control the IPOD via the Idrive. It also allows you to play music direct from memory sticks and some HDDs.

It's a cheap option and IMO an absolute must

Car sounds great though, bet you can't wait!

With the amount of miles I do a year (less than 10k) the diesel would cost me more!!! plus I drove them both and you can't beat the revving and the sound of the petrol!

Had a look and the snap in for the iphone def comes with the usb interface so i'm sorted with that.

Thing i'm not sure about is what advantage does having a snap in adapter have over just connecting via bluetooth, suppose charging at the same time.

That is true, but despite only doing 8k per year I still went for the diesel! I just love the torque! Obvisouly doesn't sound as good though

Can you play music over bluetooth then on the newer models?

I did love the instant torque when i test drove them but on some of the roads round here you just start digging up gravel with that amount. I liked the old school sort of build up of speed with the petrol, the diesel was still great though!

You can but I think thats another extra, bluetooth audio connection, I had to draw the line somewhere!!!!

I think i can store plenty of music on the Hard drive based nav, and I love my music but 95% of the time I listen to the radio!

Both quite differerent indeed, suited to different driving styles. I used to have a type-r so know all about wide rev bands! Great fun

You need blue tooth audio - about £70 and USB - £200ish, and obviously the cradle - £50ish, and then all you do is snap in your iphone and control all your music through the cradle - Well worth it, I have it on mine, then there is no need to transfer any music to the hard drive

Right.

You are going to love it. The 330i is the best of the range.

Nice choice,

I think 330is are the pic of the range too - just had a look for some tourings and they aren't half rare in E91 guise though. Only 1 facelift on the whole bmw.co.uk site!
