Good question - noticed this - but never got to the bottom of it! Looking forward to seeing posts from knowledgable BMW Owners :P

If you unlock both doors at the same time the windows will roll down.
If you unlock one door and pause say 10-15 seconds before unlocking the other, the windows will not roll down. This is what I have found. |

press the unlock button once on your remote and the car will unlock ... open the door and the window will move down about 3mm to clear the window seal.
press the unlock button twice on your remote and the car will unlock ... open the door and the window will drop to the halfway point. when the door is closed it will raise back to the close point. you can configure the window behaviour, but I think this is the default action. at least this is how my 335 behaves and always has ![]() |

It is a setting in i-Drive. If you have the windows set to convenience then when you press the unlock button twise it will roll the window down about half way when you open the door

Mine was doing this, so I took it to my indy BMW mechanic and he fixed it for $50. It should have total clearance and never touch the window trim when fitted properly. Has it recently been replaced?

Hold the window down button and hold for 4-5 second once its lowered its self. Then raise the window and hold the button once it reaches the top for 4-5 seconds. This should reset the window. |

Yep. There is a carpark in Adelaide that I use quite a lot and finding a park in it can be hard and the concrete pillars next to some parks mean I can't open my door without getting too close to the car next to me. So its climb through the window time or get other door dented by the tosser next to me.
