I had 2 12" Jl Audio W6V2 In my car on a 1000/1 JL and it was loud and a great system. But the integration was just a mess. I mean first the car rattled like hell, i mean everything rattled. But other then that it was np I guess.

Pics would be very cool. I'm thinking of a similar setup. Not neccessarily JL but a single 12". I was tempted to do a complete system in the car but I don't feel like it would be worth the cost. Just adding a sub should be easy and round out the lows that are missing with the stock system.
I'd be interested to see the box you used. |

I had an MB Quartsub and powered by JL Audio amp installed last week. They used a hi-low converter to tap into the wires going from the OEM amp to the subs under the seats. I'm much happier since I thought the bass was the only really weak part of the Logic 7 system.

Im looking for a good place to mount my amp and came across your post. Arnt you not suppose to mount your amp upside down? I believe it causes them to overheat.

Hello,
If you have the Logic 7 system there are 2 thicker wires coming from factory amp, brown and red. Use these to splice the signal into the RCA High to low converter (Stinger makes a nice one). Everything is within 3 feet of trunk; battery, ground, turn on, etc... Do not go to Best Buy to have this done. Easy install, less than an hour it should be done. Amp can be installed in hidden trunk compartment, unless you live in FL, AZ, or CA..then you might run into overheating issues. 600 watt amp and one nice 12 will do the job. |

I'm planning on doing a similar setup, single 12" JL W3 with an Alpine amp. I don't have the cold weather package (live in Florida), so I can't lower the arm rest. Can someone comment on how the bass sounds with the arm rest up, or basically without the cold weather package?
