First hpfp death:(

So after 3 and one half years and 29300 miles my hpfp has died. What sucks the most is that I just had my car in for a regular service and inspection last week. Btw does anyone here know what a puma case is? The sa mentioned it to another sa about how to handle the hpfp and I was curious.

wow you must not drive a lot, but dont worry - you will have at least 3 more failures in the time you own it.

I took mine in for long cranks and 2bfb code and all I got was a software update because everything else passed tech on the SIB 12.55.06 BUT, so far, so good, the car is cranking up fine and even seems to be more responsive. I am an 08 with 33k and still on original pump.

I just got my car back with the "new" 933 hpfp. It showed fault codes: 29dc, 29f2, 2a22, 2fbf, 2aaf, 2fa3. Would anyone here be willing to translate these codes to actual meaning?

Problem und Mebnahmenmanagement Aftersales (Problem and Measures management Aftersales) = PuMA.

It's a BMW database of all reported problems -- and a list of effective, and appropriate, fixes.

Here is a thread on it:
