I'm looking at an 07 335i coupe with 34k miles and the following:
6 speed Premium Sport Navi Heated Seats Park Distance They're asking for $32,991. Try to get it for $28 + TTL? |

sounds fair to me, i'm lookin for the exact same options If u were lookin for an automatic, i would say offer 20k cuz theres soo many of the damn things around.
manuals are very hard to find w/ that combo of options, even more harder w/ saddle brown interior. |

I couldn't even get them to 30k + ttl.
They were saying that no one would sell me a car while making only $500 profit. What's typical for a dealership to make on a CPO? $500? $1000? They even showed me what they bought it at from wholesale and the costs they put into it. |

I was in the same boat as you a month ago. Looking for the same car you are. All the dealers said the same thing, a cpo manual is going to be hard to find so you can't be picky on the options. Anyway the few that i did find were priced high or the options just didn't justify the price increase over an auto 335i coupe. The dealer knows how rare these are so they are going to get as much out of you as possible. If you go private party, you will have a better chance of finding one at that price. Anyway i ended up with a auto 335i coupe AW with the same options you are looking for 27k from 32k.

$32,991. is a steal for a CPO manual 335i Coupe.
if you get closer to 31,000 that's an even insane price.

Galves wholesale value w/ packages and mileage = $23,525
Certified Pre-owned= $2,000 To recondition the vehicle= $$1,300-$1,500 5% dealer profit+ 5% dealer overhead= $2,352 So offer around 29k and see what they say... Thanks to TJDiCandido for this great guide/price solution. Helped me get a great deal with his calculations! |

They countered at $31,890 and would not consider going lower when I said I was firm on $30,000. At this point I think I might have to give in and try to get it around $31,000 if at all possible. That gives them over $1500 profit, which seems like what So Cal BMW dealers are trying to get or more. Been to a bunch and no one is calling back looking to make a deal.

Dude, if you can get it in the low 31's, i would take it. I just lost a deal today...everyone here keeps quoting galves and auction prices but they need to look at DEMAND. And right now manuals are hard to find especially optioned out...u got a CPO too, so TAKE IT.

Don’t let the dealer’s scam you with their low supply/high demand BS. They have a hard time finding BMW enthusiasts who are willing to buy a CPO RWD 3-Series with 6MT too. That can definitely work in your favor if you don't play your hand to quickly…

Well i guess u can look at it from 2 sides. The perception of demand/low supply comes from frustrated people like myself and others on this forum trying to find a manual. I haven't heard a dealer actually say the 'supply is low and demand is high'

Based on my most recent search for a 3-Series Sedan, I'd estimate that less than 5% of the CPO E90s (in the northeast) have 6MT, ZSP, and RWD (no XDrive). Even fewer of these cars have no iDrive, which I didn't want either. You definitely have to be willing to travel. I finally bought mine at a dealership nearly 200 miles away in Philadelphia, PA. My timing turned out to be pretty good though, so I was able to negotiate a fair deal on the 335i that I bought. It may take a month or so to find what you're looking for, but you just have to be patient.

i also was searching for a manual and it is really tough. i was looking for a e92 CPO and there were only like 10 in the western US at the time and only a couple had the right options/color which made it even harder. I had to travel 400miles for mine...but this also meant i went thru the internet sales dept which was alot easier to negotiate with. I just showed them prices of other similar cars and had them match it. In the end i got 4k off thier asking prices for a CPO.
i would definately say that the 6spd is rare so the demand will always be there from enthusiast, especially in the used car market. |

What's not true? In 2007 (the model year of my 335i) only 7.7% of new cars sold in the US had manual transmissions. That's pretty low demand from new car buyers who can order the exact options they want from the factory.
Consumer demand for manual transmission cars in the US has been steadily decreasing annually for over 30 years, so there's reason to believe that less than 7.7% of US used car buyers want manual transmission cars in 2010. In other words, approximately 90% of US car buyers won't even consider purchasing a manual transmission car (in contrast, almost 80% of new cars sold in Europe have manual transmissions). While the supply of late model used cars with manual transmissions in the US is undeniably low, the demand for such cars in 2010 is even lower. That's definitely an advantage for savvy American consumers who are willing to purchase a used car with a manual transmission...

I got the same options on mine with the exception of no Parking Sensors, and no heated seats.
CPO, 6 MT, Space Gray, Black Interior with Aluminum trim with 31K miles... It was listed for $34K and change, negotiated to $29K They are hard to find though, don't think my dealer realized that |

By the way OP, it only took me 3 weeks to find the E90 I was looking for (at a fair price), so be patient. I bought on 31 December (the last day of the 4th quarter), so I had 3 different BMW dealers vying for my business.
Right now you’re looking to buy at the end of the month AND 2nd quarter, so you may be in a similar bargaining position.

Sucks playing the waiting game and seeing cars go. I really don't think that many dealerships have a used car quota at the end of the month. I had my name out there at all dealerships in So Cal, but no one called me wanting to make a deal and the cars are still sitting out there.
