Snow Chains
We're thinking of heading up to Buller or Falls in the next few weeks, i've to Buller a few years ago in my old car and needed to carry chains, but didn't have to use them. I vaguely remember how they fit on, it's not going to cause any issues with the wheel arches, runflats or anything else is it?
Any tips on where to stay for a few days?

I have never tried to use snow chains on a beemer, but just be aware that BMW warns that "Snow chains cannot be fitted" on staggered wheels. The following is from an old Price List:

There really isn't anywhere near enough clearance on those wide rear tyres to fit conventional chains. Nothing to do with RFTs.
There are things like this http://www.roofbox.co.uk/car-snow-so...tosock-faq.php but where chains are mandatory I doubt they'd let you through. I suppose you could borrow a pair of 8Jx17's but even then as the car is lower it might foul and cause damage. You could always test fit using your front wheels on the rear axle.
