Eagle F1-A's needing replacement...any other good options?
I love these tires and am most likely going to replace them with the same. Also there is an 80 bux rebate from Goodyear right now.
They are getting low on tread and getting noisy now so they are ready to go. I've got about 33k miles on them mostly freeway driving. I wonder if that is normal/average for that tire. Seems ok to me. Just wondering if you guys have any recommendations. I'm trying to stay in that similar price category to the F1's. Cheers

That's great mileage for the F1 A's...if you're referring to the Assymetrics, I've got those but they're softer than the All-Seasons and probably won't get that many miles. Goodyear Eagle F1s are German-made, cost less than PS2s but perform about the same.

I'm definitely getting another set of the F1 Asymmetrics. Perfect for street, track and wet - and a decent price too.

The F1 A/S is a different tire than the F1 Asymmetric. Many complain of noise on the F1 A/S. Good alternatives would include the Pilot Sport A/S Plus and Yokohama Avid Envigor.

I put F1 Asymmetric tires on my 335i Sport and only got about 14K out of the rears before they were toast. The fronts have about 20K on them and still aren't down to the bars... If these are the tires you have, I'd love to know how you squeezed 33K!
BTW, check out the Sumitomo HTRZ-III. Probably the best "low cost" option out there, otherwise I'd go for the Goodyears again. The F1 Asymmetric is a great tire (aside from the rear tire wear). |

Well, forget my advice about the Sumitomo HTRZ-IIIs... I thought the tire wear was bad with the Goodyears but I only got 10,500 miles out of the Sumitomos. I didn't think I had THAT heavy of a right foot I went back to the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics again. And for what it's worth, the Goodyears *look* bigger when mounted on the rims than the Sumitomos did (spec'd the same size, of course).
