Did you dial the 1-800 number for your product status. When mine said scheduled for production that is when it actually began.

According to the 800 number, "in the body shop" this morning, and still estimated completion of this Fried day (12/22/2006).

Husband's 335 sedan is in production - originally scheduled for 12/22 completion, but 1-800 number says "awaiting transport" this morning.

In production...

My car is in production right now with a scheduled completion date of 12/20. However the last time I checked the 800 number (which was yesterday) it still had the car in the paint shop. I'm not sure how long each stage takes but it would seem to me it may not be completed until Thursday or Friday. Anyway, hope my car sees all of your cars on the boat!

So exciting! Sounds like a good number of folks will have their cars together on the boat real soon.

My car is still in the body-shop with ETC of 12/22.

For those of us on the east coast, how long do you think it will take to hit our coast given completion end of this week?

My guess would be the following:

* Onto a boat by 12/29.
* Car enjoys New Year's on a trans-Atlantic cruise. (My car has a better life than I do. Sigh.)
* Boat gets to NJ by 1/12 (probably sooner).
* Car clears VPC and gets to dealer by 1/19.

This is one of the reasons I decided NOT to do a Performance Center Delivery (PCD). They wouldn't let me do 1/26; 2/2 is full. The wait is bad enough -- waiting three weeks or more would just drive me right over the edge.

Do some of the ships come into Charleston, SC? I'm believe my 02 330i came in through Charleston. I took a cruise out of this port earlier this year and there were about 300 BMW's sitting there fresh off the boat in their packaging. There was a pack of 30-40 M models (MZ4, M5, etc) sitting together, heaven.

Not me. I'm still in the body shop. You're probably a boat or two ahead of me.

I'm pretty sure there'a VPC in Charleston -- that's where Performance Center cars would come in. I'd also assume some of the cars there were outbound -- SC is the assembly plant for Z4s and X5s, so those vehicles probably LEAVE from there. (And that's probably how they fill the ships for the return trips. Lord knows there's no big market for American iron over there!!)

IIRC, the boats bounced from Bremerhaven to several other European ports, probably collecting SAABs and Volvos along the way, England (Jag-yoo-are anyone?), then bounced down the east coast (NJ and SC; don't remember where else).

Anybody have better info??
