Need help: BMW Performance exhaust changing tone (down)

After a front windows replacement by BMW I experience this wierd "secondary" result....
the sound of my beautiful PE has got smoother significanlty, at least 50%...which makes me a bit

. In theory no software update or direct hardware operation on exhaust according to them....but I am totally positive about my ears. This is especially noticeable on cold starts as car was really "screaming" for 30" before and not anymore now.

Anyone with similar experience? Any idea what could be? Can i do anything with BT cable to check it out?

they might have updated your ECU software. This is apparently mandatory on ALL cars that go into dealership now.

I can't understand why if car is ok.....

Is there any way my BT cable can recognise and confirm this possible update?

Interesting to read your post, recenlty a LSD has been installed on my car and they had to take the exhaust off, after the re-installation my exhaust note has been changed significantly. Less screaming, I did request them to install a bit different, in the past my mufflers were a bit to far out, after the reinstall they have adjusted this a bit... But I miss my screaming ....:-( It's like it's more muffled somehow

from what i have understood the new software is crypted and should make it more difficult to flash the car (eventhough GIAC has already cracked it) . Also the new software makes the Tank fuel pump run as soon as you open the door of the car in order to pressurize the fuel system and avoid the HPFP to run dry for a short period of time which supposedly is what destroys it.
Now these are facts i got from EU. maybe in the USA is different.
