rubbing issues/ Please Helppp!
So i purchased a set of linea corse Dynas from Zoeb at Wheel Dude, and they seem to be rubbing a lot. Most of the rubbing is from the rear. I do not have a drop on my car. Its an 07 e92 with the sports package.
Rims are 5X 120 19x8.5 + 30 in the front and 5 X 120 19X10 +37 in the rear. Tires are 235/35 19 in the front and 275/35 19 in the rear When I purchased the wheels he said that was the perfect combo and thats usually what everyone orders and never has rubbing issues. It only rubs when I go over a dip in the road. I also have some rubbing in the front when i turn sharply Does anybody have an idea on why this may be happening? I know i can get my fenders rolled, but they shouldn't be rubbing with stock suspension. Thanks in advance for your help Heres a pic of the rear |

Lowered or not, when your suspension fully compresses, the wheel/tire may rub the fender. This will most likely happen on hard bumps or undulations when driving at highway speeds. I suggest you take off your wheel and look for rub marks. If you cannot locate them, here's a trick:
Paint the inside of your fender lip with 'white-out'. Take it out for a spin. Then jack it up and see where it's rubbing. With 275 tires, my guess would be the inside fender lip and the even part of the bumper that extends into the wheel well. You can roll the fender. If it's making slight contact with the bumper, you will have to shave the inside a little. I did both and now have no rubbing (Note: I am running 9.5 23offset 265/30) Good luck! |

gotcha, i can see exactly where it rubs, the tires are so new on the rims, its just on the outside of the tire, about an half an inch down. So ill prolly get them rolled and see how that goes, and if its not any better ill get them to shave it. Do you think it will do any damage to drive it the next couple days?

The front fenders are plastic. If it rubs there at speed, I would quickly react. You don't want to crack an expensive part.
If it's just the rears, that's probably not as bad. However, I would not be comfortable telling you it will or will not cause damage. Typically, if its just a minor rub, you'll be fine for a little while until you can get the fenders rolled. However, it rubs too much it could potentially cut into the tire (probably very rare) of wear down the sidewall a little. For now, I would just drive slow over bumps and definitely look far ahead when at speed to determine if you need to a brake. Get them rolled soon. It should cost you $80-120 at a reputable shop. If anyone quotes you $200-250, that's too much. I called 3 places before finding someone that actually did bmw work and didn't try to gouge me. |

BTW, I am waiting for the identical trunk spoiler from JBSpeed. Is that where you bought yours? How's the fitment? Is the tape the correct thickness or is it too thick?

Do you mean 275/30/19 rear tires?

You're tires are definitely 275.30.19 in the rear, I just looked up your invoice
I'm surprised you are rubbing on stock suspension, I have sold this setup to multiple people on the forum with the same offsets and tire sizes and no one has had rubbing issues...many of which are lowered as well |

Also, the height difference between his and mine is significant as he's running on stock suspension |

As far as the rear, theres plenty of people who have been running the same setup without issues as well that's why it seems a bit odd |

If you want to switch out to 265's I can do that for you...still not sure why it's rubbing on stock height, but if you want to go down a size, I can switch them out for you if that makes it easier on you

First time I've heard of someone running 275/35. That's definitely a bit taller than I've seen but if it works, go for it. Obviously, if the marks are only on the sidewalls and not the wheel liner, then the diameter is not to blame.
As far as the fronts go, I think you were hearing things. I can't imagine rubbing at all. I'm at ET30 and lowered and don't rub. Let us know how it goes after the roll. PS, I am waiting for the identical trunk spoiler from JBSpeed. Is that where you bought yours? How's the fitment? Is the tape the correct thickness or is it too thick? |

All cars a bit different too. My first E90 needed to be rolled due to rubbing, the exact same tires and wheels (took from first car and installed on the second) did not lead to rubbing on the second E90. Both were pre LCI too. Go figure. It was a very slight rub at that on the first car.
