HP's car and modding...

Hello all ...

I've had my 330d for 4 months now and am starting to get the 'modding' itch...

The car is on a business HP deal and although I've signed up for 5 years - I'm looking to only keep it for 2.5 years. I really want to change a few things on the car but I'm not sure if I can do it. After 5 years..the car is mine to keep - but my black horse finance states that I have the right to cancel my HP deal after half the value of the finance is paid off.

A remap/tuning box (haven't quite decided yet) are OK - as they can be removed..so can any other engine products. Would my HP rights be void if i fitted the following?

A lip spoiler
suspension/brake setup
fitted xenon headlamps
possible 335i/d exhaust conversion

Thanks.

.....and read your small print.

The fact is the car doesn't belong to you until its paid off, so there is probably some detail in the contract about how you must look after it, service it etc.

Mods may be excluded as they will want a 100% original car back if they have to reclaim it from you or if you return it early. Any perceived loss in value due to mods will be added to the settlement fee for sure.

If you can return it all back to OE then maybe OK, but things like 335 exhaust mods are pretty irreversible.
