THE KIT HAS BEEN SOLD TO A NICE CHAP FROM CANADA
BMW (N51/N52/N53/N54) timing tool kit for rent near ALBANY NY

The tool kit includes: camshaft locking fixture, 2 Camshaft sensor gear disconnect gauges, chain tensioner, flywheel lock pin.
Bought from Baum tools may 2010 for $500 plus ship. This was the best deal i have found, dealer wants over $1500 for the same kit. Used it to set timing on my 2006 330xi after replacing cylinder head. If you want the timing Perfect and on the first try you must use this tool, my engine now runs flawless.

You know there's a TSB out for that, right?

There's a new engine head with a check valve to maintain oil pressure so the oil doesn't seep out of the valve lifter area and cause the tick.

I have a used cylinder head that i am going to try to install before i am ready to spend ~$5000 for this new one. Not all of the old heads develop the tick so i am keeping my fingers crossed that this one is a good one.
I would like to see the some kind of illustrations as to the difference between the new and the old cylinder head, and some kind of pictures of this check valve?
if you know where i could find them that would be great.

oh and i have seen the TSB and did read 80 or so pages of the lifter tick post

thanks

I've got a bit of ticking but why spend anywhere near that much money when a new (used) engine (N54/55) is similar price?

This still for rent? I bent a valve on my 335 and it is impossible to get the timing right without this. Trust me I've tried.
