Please help, what could be wrong? Brake pad issue

Last week I took my car to the dealer to get a squeaky brake issue fixed. They fixed the squeakiness but now it seems as if the brake pad is making contact with only the outer half of the rotor. What could be the reason for this? Did they use the wrong brake pad? Didn't position the caliper or perhaps even installed it incorrectly. This is for both rear wheels. Prior to taking it in last week, whenever the rotors would get a bit rusted, the pads would clean it entirely.

If anyone is wondering, the rust is from the car sitting for 2 days and being exposed to the neighbors sprinklers... I hate when that happens!!!! LOL.

Btw, this was Bayside BMW's new service center in Great Neck, NY.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Kinda looks like the pad doesn't go all the way to the inside of the rotor. I think they put the wrong pads in there.

I've seen it before, dealership parts assholes used to give me the wrong pads all the time for 3 series, and even aftermarket suppliers have done it too.

Do yourself a favor and get EBC brake pads. After bedding them in they will never squeak again.

I'm sure BMW will give me some ish that they cant replicate but im gonna make them put it in there notes at the very least so if i have problems down the road with my brakes i can point them back to when i came in with squeaky brakes.

You sure its not the rotor backing plate making contact with something, when i had similar issues it took 10 visits to the dealer to discover this.

Oof that definitely looks like they installed the wrong hub.

As far as brakes bieng squeaky, turn up your radios and live with it guys.

My current 335 squeaks when accelerating and my past 335 squeaked when it was accelerating. Its the design of the pads, nothing you or the dealer can do about it (well you can try the EBC pads as Matt had mentioned before).

As a matter of fact, here is my old 335 squeaking:

Rear brake squeal is a common and well know issue they HAD a TSB out for it then removed it. Supposedly something with the sensor. I've had it checked out, had pads and sensors replaced and about a month or so later it came back. At first it wasn't bad but the past few weeks its realllly bad just like the video above...
