Which tune for a E93 slug? JB+ or JB3

I just put a BMS DCI on my 2007 E93 MT. I want to get some more grunt to help this slug out of the hole but cant decide between the JB+ or JB3. The main reason I cant decide is because I dont ever plan on going above Map 3 if I go with the JB3 and am wondering if I can get the same amount of GO by just getting the JB+. Any thoughts? Any prior experience from E93 drivers?

I dont want to throw any codes because I've got 12 months left on my warranty.

Thanks!

I started with an SSTT the went to a JB3 in my E93, eventually got sick of opening up the ECU box each time new software came out and reprogramming etc, but power was nice - typically ran map4/5 with 93. Eventually went to a GIAC flash and have been happy ever since - isn't as fast as the JB3, but the way the flash makes power feels better on the bottom end in my book - I like it better for everyday cruising in he vert!

Yeah, I can vouche that this black man's car will be SUPER quick. Definitely a sleeper, until he gets his cosmetic mods. lol!

But to answer the OPs question, just get the JB3. Trust me, if you get the JB+, you will eventually want more power. So, why not just do it right the first time around.

Why didn't you just run the USB cable through the firewall into the glove box? Takes like 5 min if you've already got everything open and doesn't require any cutting, drilling or modification of any sort. I didn't even have to disconnect my DME.

Sold. Literally, buying the JB3 right now. When I put on my DCI the other day I took the whole Cowl off just to see how much of a pain it would be if I needed to remove the tune and it was easy. Mechanixhorseman - good call on just running the USB cable through the firewall.

Should I buy the BT tool if I'm just going to keep it on Map 3?

I would go with the JB3. Its the more advanced tune and on map3 you should be pretty safe safe code wise. Power delivery will be stronger and smoother then the JB+.

The JB+ also comes with a 6-momnth upgrade policy so you can get that and then upgrade to the JB3 PnP and get a full refund on the purchase price of the JB+.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

The JB3/BT Combo is a great deal especially with the FREE Shipping promo so I would say go for it. The added 120.00 for the BT tool is worth the peace of mind.

Here is more info on the combo.

I guess to rephrase... has anyone ever thrown a code using Map 3? I understand piece of mind, but if it just doesn't happen I'd rather just take my chances.

The JB3 2.0 PNP is a great kit and all of my customers have been extremely happy with the kit. I've got some great deals for all you E90post members. I can't shoot you over a PM as your post count is too low so shoot me over an email here at Alan************.com!

Better safe than sorry. Just bought the BT tool package and had it added onto my JB3 order. I guess I can do some higher maps now and not have to worry. I'll go run it at MIR in Maryland and post some results. Thanks for the help!

I have not had the jb+ but I know you wont regret the jb3 because mods are addictive and you will regret not getting the jb3 after a few months when the fastness wears off and you want to turn it up or mod more. Just my .02
