n55 Exhaust mods
Has anyone done any mods to the stock n55 exhausts yet such as muffler/resonator/cat deletes or any combination. I am thinking about going down that path and was wondering if anyone got into doing it yet

Silly Question, we all know the N54 has a total of 4 cats, how many does the N55 have? I know of 1 after the turbo, but what about 2nd cats?

I have the whole last week of July off. I'm sure if I left friday I could get there by Saturday.

Ciomas, I can't really tell, but is their only 1 Cat on the N55? I don't see any others on the exhaust system...

Theres really no giant resonator like the older e90's ... I was planning on doing a res delete but by seeing this there really is no point bc its so small ... any ideas ?

So we are looking at a total of 3 Cats? 1 on the DP, 2 on the exhaust... Ryan, if anything you may want to do a Cat Delete, or get some HFC's to replace the 2nd cats, if your worried about emissions. I know when I get my N55 X5, i most likely will replace the 2nd Cats with HFC's, probably 2-300 cell count... My question is what is the cell count on the 2nd cats? Are they 600 like the N54 cats?

Yeah i guess if theres a primary cat on the downpipe the cat delete is the way to go... Im guessing its the 600 cell count because from what I can see they are the exact same size at the two secondary cats on the n54 exhaust systems ...

If they are the same size, then they are most likely 600 cells... The N54 had a total of 2400 (between the 4 Cats). Does the N55 only have 1800? I'm curious to know what the count is on the main Downpipe Cat. I know i've read that the main cat is larger than what is on the N54, so by that reasoning, It's gotta be a pretty high cell count. I'm probably going to swap my OEM cats back onto my 335 and put the HFC's on the X5 when I get it... It's funny though, that they went with a dual exhaust setup on the N55 considering that it's only one Catted Downpipe coming from the Turbo (split into two outlets) Maybe a Single Exhaust Setup would have been better... IDK
