Paint Correction Clear Bra...

Well I am in need of a paint correction before I get clear bra installed!

I am from Buffalo and we seem to have a lack of competent detailers. I have looked/asked many people!

I am looking for someone to give my car a paint correction and to install a clear bra.

Can anyone recommend a good detailer and someone to install clear bra.

I am willing to drive into Canada thats so big deal I guess it just depends on where they are located. I can drive into Toronto but it has to be on the weekend so that might complicate things! ( due to the traffic)

Thanks

Who ever you get the clear bra installed by you should NOT really drive the car that much after the install. You don't want to do much high speed driving nor drive in the rain for a few days. It takes that long for the clear bra to dry and adhere to the car's paint.

Have you looked in the yellow pages? look under AUTO and look for someone who does the TRIMLINE stuff. You now the guys who do pinstripes and such. There must be someone in your area who can tackle this job. Or go to a few dealers and ask them who does thier pinstripe or foil wraps/clear bra's. It should not be any big secret. )

As a last resort you might stop by a body shop who handles european cars. they also should be able to do this for you.

Good Luck

I know a good detailer in Albany, but I don't think he does clear bras. I don't know of anyone off hand in Buffalo. You could schedule a weekend date with Me and Marco (from advanced mobile group); but finding someone local might be preferable since we're in Toronto. Let me ask the guy I know from Albany if he has a clear bra guy.

Hey. My family lives in Niagara Falls so I am there occasionally. As far as I know there isn't anyone in the Niagara/St Cat/Grimsby area that does this sort of work. Unfortunately for us picky guys the good clear bra people seem to be centered in the GTA or Windsor.

I e-mailed the guy I know in Albany, I will see what he says re: his availability and clear bra guys and let you know!

Picus, who in Windsor does this well? I have the hood and fenders done, but will try to get my bumper AFTER I repaint it.

Marco from advanced is still servicing Windsor, if I an not mistaken. (*****************************); he's the best clear bra installer I've personally met.

Thanks! I spoke with Dave and he said he isn't detailing the summer, in school I guess I'll check around to see if I can't find someone more local to you.

Do you put plastic on your couch too? Clear Bras are not clear. I think they look horrible. Whats the point. Get stone chips fixed.

Much harder to explain a repaint to a potential buyer when trying to sell your car.

actually the one on mine surprises everybody. You can hardly tell its there and its full hood...not those POS that covers 1/4 of the hood. Also if you get a good film, it adds gloss to the car

So we should all have our entire cars covered in that stuff? Youre hiding the paint people! Why cover it up so the guy you sell it to can enjoy it?

Sure, you can cover your whole car if you drive a lot in reverse....

The next guy may enjoy the better paint at a higher price... You see where Im going with this?

No I dont. I'd rather enjoy it myself. I put min 100,000 kms on every car and have NEVER had any significant chips that would affect the value of the car. All I am saying is if you can tell its there at all , why do it. You guys all talk about waxes and detailling etc and then these bras? Disconnect.

There is no disconnect. I've been detailing cars professionally for almost 15 years, and I highly recommend clear bras. Stone chips may not bother you, but they bother most people who are finicky about their cars paint. e90/e92s that are highway driven will be essentially sandblasted by 100k.

A properly installed clear bra is just that; clear. The most obvious sign it is on is the line when you're close to the car. I am going out on a limb here, but I believe most people would agree with me when I say a car with a properly installed clear bra looks better than a car with a few dozen stone chips, and a lot better than one with a few hundred.

Difference of opinion. Of my 100,000 kms ,about 80,000 is on the highway. Does the bra stay on forever? I bet the car looks nice when you take it off or replace it. You guys get it but I don't.
