Products you can buy locally?

I plan on waxing my new 328i. I would love to order something however I do not have time. Once I receive it I will be back at work and will not have the time to do it. Any recommendations on something I can pick up at walmart or auto zone? Can I use the wax for the wheels or should I get something else?

Thanks,

Philip

autozone and walmart arent always bad!!!

heres a good start list: all at walmart
1. 2 blue wash buckets
2. the orange or purple chenile mit
3. Megs gold class car wash
4. NXT paste wax!!
5. mothers FX wheel shine
5. ABSORBER (to dry)

This is your bare esentials that will get you by for a while!!! maybe cost u 40$ but your car will love u for it until u can order some boutique wax!

no worries man!! you can get zymol if you want but u said autozone or walmart! i highly doubt they will carry that!

MF towels are good but invest in good ones that ull have to order from a boutique store.
#6 on my list above its called the ABSORBER. use it to dry your car!

Do you have alloys on the car? Try cleaning them with soap and water and a separate mitt. If it doesn't work buy a non-acid wheel cleaner (Eagle One Aluminum wheel cleaner is nice), I'd wax them with the NXT paste wax.

The blue OTC Zymol is not very good. It stains trim and leaves white residue. I would definately go with NXT instead. Mothers FX and Relections are very good also. Car Quest carries Duragloss 105 which is excellent.

Helpful hint: I don't know if this is still true, but if the Zymol bottle you're looking at says "made in Chicago" or something along those lines, it's nothing more than Turtle Wax! I think Turtle Wax must own rights to mass distribute under the Zymol name.

drying using the absorber

here's a helpful tip, next time you wash your car and use the absorber to dry it. Dry one section at a time then go over that section with a microfiber towel to do a real dry job, you will love the results

the water spots are probably coming from drying it in the sun. that or maybe u forgot a spot . The absorber worked great on my JET BLACK. I dry the whole car off at once with it ring it out a couple times and then start folding it in 4's like a polishing cloth and it gets everything off your paint..I find myself getting the absorber dirty again sometimes when i get to the lower spots..I get so pissed when i see the yellow thing BLACK.. but thats whats good about them u immediatily see it and go spray it with a high pressure nozzzle and it come right out:rocks:

Try using detail spray after your done drying, wiping off with a nice MF towel and yes it will bring out a nice shince!! and ensure No water spots

If you final rinse the car by using the open hose ( no sprayer ) from top to bottom, the water will sheet down the car and leave 1/10 the amount of beaded water on the car to dry.

I found Stoner glass cleaner at Sam's today... 4 pack for $10... not sure that's a great deal, but it seemed like it, so I picked it up!

Just checked Autogeek and it's $5.99 each there, so I think I got a GREAT deal!
