Noticed something Wierd (procede v4)
So my labonte failsafe fried (lasted a whole 3 or so months) Taking it out required me to unplug the vac line to the boost canisters. Finished up take the failsafe off line and forgot to plug in the vac line to the boost canisters. Went for a drive, no boost, car sounds like a raspy v6 and no limps no check engine lights NOTHING. I found that a little wierd, I would expect the car to throw a limp if zero boost is reached.

Depending on DME software version, you wont immediately throw a limp for underboost. Some version require that a certain boost error be achieved for a certain period of time before the limp is tripped. Nothing to do with v4 as it will behave the same way in valet/stock mode.

I don't know, but i noticed that it wasnt working, so I unplugged it and blew throught it thinking it might be clogged, plugged it back in, heard sparks and instant white smoking coming out of the unit.
As far as the unplugged vac hoses, I stayed in it through 2 gears (1st/2nd) and NADA. Just found that a little wierd. |

The member t"hemyst" had a labonte unit faile for no reason and was only a few weeks old.
IMO something is up with those units. Anyway, car sounds pretty good with no boost, especially open throttle body.... like an E36 M3 HAHA Oh and I through a limp mode right away with open TB (charge pipe blew off). I guess its the luck of the draw. |
