Good question. Although, if I was running 20 psi I'd probably have a dedicated boost gauge. They say the take over point is user configurable. Maybe they can allow the user to change the numbers as well. IDK.

Maybe... I personally can't wait to try it. I'll probably set mine above 8 or so so it only works when I'm WOT. THat said, I've always wondered what my boost was cruising around town... It'll fun to experiment with whatever I choose.

Wow. Same feature released by two different tunes on the same day. What are the odds of that?
I feel kind of bad for CP-E. The standback seems like a great product. I think if they had been to the market earlier they would have a much larger following.

So what does CP-e has the rights too? Is it the gauge for the mph to move, concept of using any gauge for boost, CANbus controlling, or using the hazard lights as a change in function? I checked the uspto website and can't find such a thing unless someone knows the patent number.

Road speed seems like an important piece of information to give up for this , especially under boost. Doesn't seem very safe to not know how fast you're going when your over x psi boost. Speedo and tach are big and easy to read for a reason.
I love the innovation though... |

Nice idea from both parties and enjoy the innovation as of late as well from every camp... But I yet to find that pending patent in the uspto site. Hope they release the patent# to read more on it.
After watching both video back to back, they are both very responsive but the speedometer seems to be more responsive. Does the speedometer needle move faster than the fuel gauge? Also, why did this video surface after Vishnu posted theirs?

haha yes.... this looks awsome except i think its kinda important to know how fast ur going at all times especially under boost. Very smart choice to take over the fuel gauge instead.

Dumb choice IMHO to replace the speedo with a boost gauge.

I like the speedo as it's easier to see exactly what you're boost is. The fuel gauge is smaller and has less resolution. As for needing to know the speed, I would respectfully disagree. What's the difference btw knowing you're going 110 vs 130 vs 100. You're likely going to jail either way and with the tach and what gear you're in you'll have an idea... That and by how fast your swishing by traffic...

Very nice!! and interesting, now i cant wait to see what BMS and the JB3 will come out at the end of the summer!
These are cool options and useful i guess if you dont want to log just to see your boost real quick, but i think logging is probably better, or getting a regular boost gauge. |
