Apparently theres a speed camera on San Dimas Ave?? Its basically a radar speed sign with a flash in the middle of it....scared the heck out of me. Locals told me its fake...it only flashes a strobe to get your attention. Is there really such thing?? Theres no photo enforcement sign near it and I think speed cameras are illegal in cali?

Possibly. There's one here in riverside going down here. It started flashing like gnarly, but my friend told me its jsut to get your attention. I heard california didnt pay their bills for the traffic light cameras, so some of them doesnt even work anymore as well.

Yeah, I'm scared because it only flashed once when I got close to it. It was a bright day so I'm not sure if it flashes me before. Arg!! It was downhill and an open road so I was going above speed limit.

i've been through that street. it's just there to tell you your speed. no camera, just a radar and light.

but camera lights only get you if you enter the intersection when the light turns red or when you enter the intersection on a yellow right before it turns red?

i entered a few intersections while they were yellow and just exited them as my bumper was clearing the first line of crosswalk when the light turned red. im pretty sure i wont get a ticket for that will i?

That's good to hear. Fake camera flashes grrr!! I think the red light cam goes off after you enter the intersection if it's red.

yeah i talked to a guy that supposedly know about those things, and he said those are fake flashes. but there is one in Allen Ave that is supposedly real...be careful in that street.

Hi there, I drove past San Dimas to the 57 freeway and Via Verde a week ago and was wondering if you ever got a ticket from that light you past. I was taking a detour because the freeway was under construction and was going downhill just like you said when it flashed on me as I drove past. That freaking downhill speed, and it was so dark. But I didn't see any Photo Enforced signs. Isn't that illegal?

Yea It's illegal in Cali unless the Governators proposal went through. Before he left office he was pushing for speed light cameras. If I remember correctly he said it would generate like 4-500 million a year for the state.

If they do get approved I hope the Tom Toms can pick em up like in Europe.

i live two streets over from there and it caught my attension too but like people above stated it's just a "warning" type light.

Yup just a warning light. Never got anything in the mail. That flash freaked me out!

those things are going to be installed on the 15 freeway next year and citations will be mailed to your home according to a chp officer i know
