LSD Break in?

I got the Dinan LSD installed today at Atspeed Motorsports.

Dinan specifies a 1000 mile break in before WOT. SUCK!

Thoughts on this?

why would you need to brake in your LSD???? doesn't make sense...other than changing oil after the initial 1000 miles...i say go WOT right away so you know if they didn't install it properly...

its a different story with a clutch which should be broken in for at least 500 miles

Harold, over at HP Autowerks, says that there is no break in period for the Quaife. Isn't the Dinan unit just a Quaife with a Dinan label?

if this is a limited slip differential there may be a clutch pack assy for engagement and disengagement of the ring gear assy. so just as you would a clutch ... be not gentle .. but dont try to light em up from every stop light either ...

just like the M3 -- in which we change the diff oil at 1200mi.. i think dinan is being cautious -- they warranty there stuff for some time so...
