Be very careful with this. It could take the color right out of your seat.

Best bet, without causing damage is take a hot wet towel and press it onto the gum to loosen it up. Once it is pliable rub with the towel until you get it all off.

Best way to remove gum off anything is to freeze it - once frozen it will flake right off.

Yes, freezing it is the best way. Visit autopia.org, it is one of the biggest car detailing forums on the web and they have tons of tricks there for this.

Hot towel sounds like a very bad idea to me. The gum is hard to remove because it is sticky and soft. Applying heat will make it even more so.

As others have said, you need to freeze it. Just get a can of compressed air, invert the can, and spray the gum a few times. The thing will pop right off.

Another vote for freezing, tried both ways (hot towel and freezing) and freezing is def the way to go

I used a wart freeze spray for mine (cloth interior at the time) and it did require a little cleaning afterwards. Maybe with leather the "pop" will leave less behind

You can get bottles of CO2 at radio shack, they use them for cleaning boards and stuff. A hot towel will soften the gum up and make it stick more.

The hot towel works. Used it on an old car. Freezing is easier, but if you don't have the spray why go out and waste money?

if you don't have a can of compressed air, try few ice cubes in a plastic bag. just place it on the gum for few minutes until it gets hard enough to flake off.

I've used 1intenseI35i's method many times and it works fine (i.e. plastic bag with ice cubes). I leave it on the gum spot for a little while while I do something else and when I come back to the gum it's nice and hard. A small flat head screwdriver or old credit card and it usually pops right off. Clean the area after it's removed and your good.

I've also used this method on carpet with gum as well. I remove the bigger pieces with a pair of needle nose pliers and then a fine comb through the remaining gum in the fibers.

Hands down, freeze it and it will flake right off.

Easiest way? Get a can of compressed air used to blow dust out of your computer/keyboard.

Flip it upside down and spray. Make sure you don't get your skin with it.
