Splitters - carbon fibre or painted ?

I've got some OEM carbon fibre splitters on the way (thanks to Matt). The question is... do I leave them carbon fibre or colour code them ???

My car is Black Sapphire... think the carbon would look good, but since I don't have any plans for any other carbon mods I think it may look a bit odd ?

Also, the wife probably won't notice them if I get them painted....

Please help me decide - vote now !

might look odd if its the only carbon mod that you have on the car, but being a black car you might might just get away with it. if it were me id get it painted to match

I wouldn't bother painting them. It's not that big a contrast and I think the carbon would look fine.

Carbon on black will be very subtle anyway - leave it as it is.

i tired the carbon on my black 335i coupe and the problem it that it does not look good as your bumper wil inevitably have stone chips.

I would get them painted

Thanks Sunny !

I was leaning towards colour coding them and at the minute, the poll suggests you lot think it would look best painted aswell...

I saw quite a few M3's and CSL last sunday at Scottish Modified. And of the ones that had Carbon Splitters - all of them had very visible stone chips on them. Not sure if painting will help - but it can't be any worse.

I have a carbon splitter for the fast datsun and haven't fitted it for the very same reason.

Butch,

Leave them carbon for now (I liked them as they were), then if you don't like the look then paint them. They are easy to fit and remove - just be careful

Paint them Butch or wrap them in black (cheaper option)

That's a good point, never thought about wrapping them... but would still look better colour coded to the paint though, rather than a generic black wrap.

Splitters have arrived and look awesome in carbon - just temporarily offered them up and thought I might leave them carbon, but in sunlight they do stick out a bit too much.

Thanks for all your votes - looks like colour coded FTW !!!

Paint them

I had them in carbon for a week or two but I think they look more subtle when painted. Really improves the SE front end. All you need then is some black grilles and your done!!

No black grills for me - staying with chrome grill and window trim.
