HELP!! Can't get trim piece off

I'm currently wrapping the interior trim of my car with vinyl. However, I'm having problems getting the ash tray trim piece off! I'm using the DIY, but the flat head screwdriver keeps scratching my trim! How do I get that bugger off?!?! I know tons of you gents have done this mod.

Oh, wait nevermind, I just got it. You just have to slide into both slots in the back of the ashtray.

The ash tray covers usually break (especially if wood trim) The 2 outer slots are only 2 of the clips.

There are nylon pry tools made for trim removal. (Check Eastwood or fleabay. Fleabay is cheaper.)

Also, see the "DIY - Sunglass holder (replaces ashtray)" in the DIY section. I try to avoid prying trim with a metal screwdriver. If I can't avoid it, I put masking tape on the trim piece and masking tape on the screwdriver.

I managed to remove the ashtray cover without breaking anything.
