Is a DSC(non-TPM) based pressure monitoring system bad for non-RFT tires ?

Ok, so I am a bit worried about one thing: my car does not have a TMPS based pressure monitoring system, it relies on the DSC to detect pressure loss (the affected wheel spins faster thus it is detected by the DSC) and I am about to mount my first non-runflat tires.

I have a feeling that this system takes a longer time to report tire pressure loss than a TPM system (with pressure sensors inside the tires).

When using non-runflat tires, this may mean alot: the non-RFT tire could already be damaged until you get a flat-tire notice.

What do you think ?

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize I was in the wrong forum when posting...please move it to Wheels/Tires forum.

no, been running this way for 1 year and works fine. I also tested it by letting some air out of 1 tyre and detected it straight away.

my e46 m3 had the DSC based Tire sensor, and they come stock with non-runflats.

worked fine. besides requiring you to visually check each tire to determine if one is running a bit low, it's pretty responsive. just make sure you reset it properly when all the tires are at a proper pressure.

the RDC is pretty accurate, vs the actual TPMS

remember the DSC has to respond quickly enough to circumvent wheel spin in microseconds ... how much easier is it to analyze rotational values between wheels and trigger a system message???

It's not a problem. my car detected air lose before I felt it myself....

Running normal tyres for the last 99000 km ;-)
