Passenger seat belt alarm randomly goes off

Hope this isn't a repost. As the title says my passenger seat belt alarm randomly goes off when no one is in the seat, has anyone had this problem? It will do it sometimes on startup, but it occurs mainly when I'm just driving around.

All of a sudden out of nowhere, the stupid seat belt alarm starts sounding off and the fasten passenger seat belt warning pops up. Sometimes it last 10 seconds, sometimes 10 minutes (well that only happened once because I wanted to see if it would turn off by itself). Any insight?

Do u have anything on the seat when this happens?

this happened to by brothers 2007 x3, if ur still under warrenty just bring it to ur dealer and they should order u a new part... well atleast thats what they did for the x3 and it hasnt gone off since

Sometimes my laptop, but the other 99% of the time the only thing occupying the space is air.
