Jb3 or Giac, which one? (Don't hurt me)
LOL, sry I been reading and reading...and I just need someone to motivate or tell me something that would sway me to one side. Performance wise for the tunes...Idc...what i'm trying to understand is which is more convient for me cause my car is still under warranty and I have to bring it to dealership...now I know Jb3 u can take it out yourself for the visits to the dealership...but I know with GIAC u must bring it back to the place to get it flashed back to stock...or unless I'm wrong and there is a controller out that will do that??? Also what I hope if someone can answer this is...does that controller allow you to change it to stock and the dealer won't detect it???
If you guys can give me a little help with that...I am also from NY...I'm pretty sure there is one in Queens for GIAC...which is like 45 min away...so thats another thing I have to take into account. |

Keep in mind that there is always the proceed! If your interested in neat little features such as the in dash boost gauge or autotune you should look into it.

Looks like GIAC has a flash switcher now. So you could switch to stock without having to remove and devices/wires/etc..

There are two guys in rockypoint that have procede and I think one had run jb3 to. I live like ten minutes away. Just test drive man to see which one is best for you. They all have their strong points.

It sounds to me like the map switcher is good enough for routine maintenance but not good enough for warranty repairs. So check with your GIAC dealer. Suppose your HPFP suddenly fails. How soon can the GIAC dealer get you in and flashed back to stock? How much will it cost?

OP- spend your money wisely. I don't think any choice is bad. But there are certainly options that are better than others. Test drive all the tunes you can. And talk to people who have tried more than one tune because those who haven't will usually just recommend the tune they happen to run

Actually the PROcede is probably the least complicated (for the end user) and most sophisticated, just plug it in and it will auto-tune for you...i like the PROcede, never tried GIAC but thats probably the only close competitor to the PROcede IMO

The GIAC seems like a great tune and Id love to try it. As far as piggybacks go I dont think jb3 even comes close to the procede IMO. Not even close. my opinion is based on first hand experience. Auto tune is so simple and the features are a lot of fun. my .02.

Nick, I just got my JB3 installed. I don't know what your going for exactly, but me personally I wanted my car to take off like a bat out of hell when I hit the gas, and also wanted it to feel stock when just cruising around. So for now, it's on map 3, and I may put it to map 5 once my FMIC and intake + exhaust is finished. Thats as far as I will go. I'm not looking to break records, but a mid to low 12 second car is fine by me. I can't speak on other tunes because I never tested them, but of course I hear great things about PROcede as well. But the thing that made me go with JB3 was that it gives me exactly what I just explained I needed, at half the price of the PROcede.
