320d I presume?
It's a case of diminishing returns really - you can do all sorts of things, exhaust, induction, FMIC (probably?), water/meth, nitrous... But you'll end up spending vast amounts of money for not a lot more bhp. Be happy with what you've got IMO. |

What sort of power output does it have now?
Is it petrol or diesel? On petrol cars an exhaust and air filter will give maybe 10-15bhp more. After that it's a lot of money spent on gas flowed heads and cams. On diesel cars a remap is the cheapest way of getting good power gains, typically 30% increase in power and torque. After this it will get costly with hybrid turbos. Air filters and exhausts don't make a great deal of difference. You would be better off saving your money and getting a E90 with a bigger engine imo. Either a 325, 330 or 335. |

In my experience if you were thinking of getting a new exhaust or induction kit you should do that before a remap as a good remap will dial both in the car so it uses them properly which will increase bhp and torque.

Sounds like a classic case of "Buy a car with a bigger engine" to me.
Modding the '20d will just decrease reliability and lower resale values.
