Which tires come with a new 328xi?
Hey guys I'm picking up my car at Munich on Jan 29. I ordered a 328xi coupe with sports package. Which all season tire will I be getting with the car? Will it handle ok in the snow or should I consider putting on something like a Nokian Rsi when I take redelivery? We get enough rain in the Seattle area that a performance all season makes sense most of the year but I'm guessing it probably won't be good enough for the snow.
Thanks for any info

I'm not certain about the '07 E92 328xi, but my '06 E90 330xi ZSP came with Continental ContiProContact SSR, 225/45/17 all around.
On paper the results for this model are quite good across the board, but you still can't beat a winter tire. If you want to lean more towards dry/wet performance over snow/ice, then get one categorized as a winter performance tire (Dunlop Winter Sport), as opposed to a studless ice & snow (Bridgestone Blizzak). I'm not certain which category in particular the Nokians belong to, but I guess you really can't go wrong with them in the winter in any case. The way I look at it, the cost of 4 tires alone is cheaper than replacing 1 front bumper cover in the event that a car running on all-seasons can't quite stop in time and bumps into something (notice I said bump, not crash and plow). Just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I know very well wrt 4 tires being cheaper b/c our 99 Audi A4 quattro slid off the road a few weeks ago and got totalled. Of course, the good part about that is that I discovered the new 3 series.
The Nokians are actually one of the best studless winter tires out there. No other 328xi owners out there that can confirm these tires?

If you got the $400 sport pack with 17's then you will have Bridgestone Turanza EL 42 that are 225/45R17 both front and rear. If paid the extra $600 for the 18's I can't help you.

Thanks for the info guys, I got the 400$ pkg and didn't pay the extra 600$ so this is what I should be getting. Guess I'll have to wait and see about the loud and bumpy part.

Mine actually came with the conti ssr tires. I'm happy about that since the reviews for the bridgestone are not great. Perhaps BMW is listening?

My Feb/06 build 330xi also came with the Contis, so I don't know how the factory decides what to put on but I'm glad.
